3D Laser Scanning for Existing Plants
Precise capture of complex plants as a basis for planning and collision-free design
Our profile
We are an innovative construction service and mechanical engineering company in the field of biomass utilization, pelleting, wood processing, material handling and plant construction.
Ae also offer our customers manufacturer-independent on-site performance engineering.
By this we mean the detailed engineering and design of your construction or retrofit project directly on site.
Modifications to existing plants typically require thorough preparation and planning in order to avoid excessive disruption to ongoing operations.
Using modern 3D laser scanning technology, we can create a digital twin of the existing structural conditions and use it as a reliable basis for all subsequent planning tasks. In this context, it should be noted that we are fully equipped with our own hardware, including a FARO 3D laser scanner and a powerful in-house IT infrastructure, enabling us to process and deliver even complex point clouds within very short timeframes.
Several scans from different perspectives are thus combined into a digital data model and prepared and made available for the CAD application. We create a digital 1:1 twin of the actual state, which can then be used sustainably, effectively and efficiently in a wide variety of CAD applications for all subsequent planning stages.
The data obtained is usually used for all types of conversion or superstructure planning in the CAD system and enables precise implementation with minimal intervention in ongoing processes.
Application examples:
Reduction of time and errors through
- Reduce the number and types of errors in manual measurements, damage, injuries and failures
- Reduction in time spent on site for inspections
- Provide advanced interference and collision detection for new installations without having to be on site again
- Execution of construction activities with fewer offsets and design errors
- Coordination of efficient scaffolding erection in complex plant environments during shutdowns
- More flexible response to schedule disruptions and changing conditions on site
Planning and design
- improving all plant processes by creating drawings and models where none previously existed
- Analyzing engineering design plans, checking for clashes between existing conditions and new design elements, and evaluating alternatives before project costs are incurred
- a design that is more closely aligned with acceptable safety factors and efficient and accurate communication of design intentions
Work processes
- the provision of consistent implementation documentation of CAD/design specifications for the plant plan
- Updating the documentation in piping and equipment diagrams (P&IDs)
- the evaluation of pipeline routes to ensure compliance with various legal regulations
- the provision of accurate measurements for the demolition and disposal of plant components in existing facilities
- the prefabrication of components with little or no excess material or incomplete weld seams
- Visualization of construction plans before execution
- the visualization of current conditions for asset management, inspection, constructability and financing efforts
- the acceleration of construction, decommissioning and modification processes
Advantage for the customer
- Increase in productivity
- Reduction of the project planning effort
- Visualization / illustration of the planning project
- Process optimization
- Quality improvement
- Energy savings
- Conversion/extension planning for existing systems
